Recommended Hashtag Channels

Hashtag channels make it easy to organize conversations around specific topics on the network. By starting a channel name with a #, MeshCore automatically generates the channel key, allowing anyone using the same channel name to join and communicate. These channels are great for coordinating around particular subjects or local groups.

How to Join a Hashtag Channel

Joining a hashtag channel is easy. Follow these steps in the MeshCore app:

  1. Tap on the 3-dot Menu
  2. Select Add Channel
  3. Choose Join a Hashtag Channel
  4. Enter the Channel Name
  5. Tap Join Channel
  6. Select Continue to Channel
  7. Start Chatting!

Recommended Channels

Below are some commonly used and recommended hashtag channels on TennMesh to help keep conversations organized across the network. These channels make it easier for users to find discussions related to specific topics while keeping the main public channel from becoming too cluttered.

General

The recommended channel for testing your devices and seeing if others copy you.

#bot

The recommended channel for automated bots.

#tenntalk

General chat for Tennessee. Think of this as a Tennessee-specific "Public" channel.

Tennessee Regions

Tennessee is divided into three regions: East, Middle, and West. Separate hashtag channels are available for each region so users can easily coordinate, share updates, and communicate with others nearby.

Conversations and coordination for East Tennessee.

Conversations and coordination for Middle Tennessee.

Conversations and coordination for West Tennessee.

County Channels

County-specific channels follow the #tn-[county] format for consistency. Since Tennessee has 95 counties, not all are listed here but any county can create their own channel using this naming convention.
